Good Image Viewer Wanted

Can anyone recommend a good image viewer, I want something where I can insert a dvd with pictures on and view them full screen without having the hassle of importing into iphoto.

Was that DVD created with iPhoto, or is it just a Data DVD with some pictures on it?

If it was created with iPhoto, I think you need to import it into iPhoto. If it's a data DVD, you can just select all picture and open them with Preview (Select the Slideshow item from the View menu to view the pics full-screen).

The one thing I hate about preview is you can't just select the folder that contains the pics, you have to go the extra step and select all the pics themselves. I know it's not a big deal and it's probably more logical, but when you've got used to image viewers on the PC being able to do this it's a bit annoying.

There are couple of free ones I've found - GL Image Browser and Imagebrowser, but I can't say I find them particularly useful compared to Preview.

If it was created in iPhoto the CD/DVD will automaticallicy open in iPhoto as it's own Library and each individual sub library and folder that was created on the disk.

If you want to spend a $30 on a program, graphics convertor is pretty cool for full screen slideshows. (And of course other things)

Search 'slideshow" at macupdate.com came up with about 20 or so apps http://www.macupdate.com/search.php?keywords=slideshow&os=macosx&button.x=0&b...

You could take a look at Xee which is a quite popular alternative to Preview.

I thought Graphics Converter was just what I was looking for until I tried Xee, that program was exactly what I was looking for, thanks Thomas.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.

All I need now is a DTP program that has layout guides like MS publisher.

Glad I could help Smiley

Here’s a very nice replacement icon for Xee since the original really isn’t that pretty. Actually, Adam’s whole site is quite amazing and definitely worth a look.
