I would appreciate some guidance on what is a very effective but very easy to use database/client relationship management tool for Mac.
When I purchased my MacBook Pro in December 2007 (I had been a PC and ACT! user up until then) I was convinced by the salesman to buy FileMaker Pro. As far as I am concerned it is the most unfriendly, difficult to use, piece of software ever.
Points of note:
1. I am a computer dummy (which is why I have found a new lease on life becoming a Mac user) - heck I cannot even use the bullet-point function in this forum window.
2. I am a consultant, speaker and author. So keeping track of prospective business leads, proposals, sales, engagements, etc is handy.
3. Being able to do a geographic search of clients is helpful. For instance, I'm traveling to another city or country, finding prospects in that location so I can send them an email and tell them I am visiting in the hope of hooking up for a coffee and a chat.
4. Being able to record what books, CDs, DVDs, seminars, etc that clients have bought would also be wonderful. It's silly to promote a product to a person who has already bought it!
5. I use an iPhone, as well. So, if the program synced that would be a bonus but I suppose, not entirely necessary.
I'll stop now because everyone is probably getting bored.
Thank you very much for your help. Rgds, Ric
