RecoLive MultiCam for iOS & Mac

Date: 21st October 2016

Duration: 42:46

Show ref: SCOM0580

In this week’s episode, Allison Sheridan takes us through the setup and usage of a hidden iOS gem - RecoLive Multicam.

For just $4.99 USD and a few spare iPhones or iPads, you can create a Multicam setup with live camera switching, selectable audio and a huge range of professional transitions - you can even use your Mac Desktop or any camera connected to your Mac as a video source in the MultiCam shoot.

Record all your video devices live simultaneously, and let RecoLive MultiCam composite a final video directly on your iOS device, or export the multiple camera angles to separate video files and use iMovie or FCP X to create your final video.

You’ll be amazed at what can be achieved with this inexpensive yet incredibly powerful app.

Time for an update show on two of my favourite apps - ScreenFlow and LiquidText.

There’s a general theme in this week’s episode - Screen and Video Capture on the Mac and iOS.

I cover Voilà for the Mac - a fully featured screen and video capture app and Vidyo, a controversial app that was only on the App Store for 24 hrs.

Please note - Voilà has been superseded by Capto from the same vendor

The third and final Plex instalment. Following on from the previous Plex episodes, I take a further look at some of the benefits of a full Plex Pass subscription.

With the advent of the Plex Apple TV app, Plex has suddenly become hugely popular with the Mac community.

AccessMenuBarApp - Is your laptop resolution causing menu bar icons to become hidden? AccessMenuBarApp allows you to show them all with a single keystroke or mouse gesture.

VideoGIF - Create animated GIFs for support or just for fun. VideoGIF allows you to capture or convert any video clip into an animated GIF and share via social networks, email or via websites. In this segment, I demonstrate using QuickTime X to do a video screencapture, convert to a GIF and incorporate into a Clarify document.

PhotoSync allows you to transfer photos and videos to your other devices (as well as most cloud based services) in an instant. Simply select your images or videos, select your target and boom!
