Date: 7th February 2017

Duration: 03:41

Tip Video: Preview on the Mac is known for its PDF capabilities, but it really is a "Swiss Army Knife" amongst applications. Supplied free as part of macOS, Apple are continually updating and improving Preview with additional functionality.

Apple AirPods

Date: 13th January 2017

Duration: 21:18

Apple's new AirPods have been out for a month or two now and I've had time to have a good play with them.

In this slightly shorter, live video show, I take you through the initial setup and usage of the AirPods on all the supported Apple platforms - iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. I also take a look at setting up the AirPods on a slightly older Apple device - an iPod touch.

I have to say, I've been delighted with the AirPods and Apple have added their secret source to make the setup and switching a breeze.

More updates for macOS, iOS 10, watchOS 3 & tvOS.

Some minor changes to Mail on the Mac and iOS, some big changes to Maps on iOS and a first look at setting up Home Automation with HomeKit and the new Home App on iPad and iPhone.

Time for an update on Apple Photos across the board.

Apple continue to improve and update Apple Photos with some brand new features.

In this episode we take a look at the improvements to Apple Photos on macOS, iOS, Apple Watch and Apple TV.

Continuing with our look at Apples latest OS for the iPhone and iPad, I also take a look at some of the new features of the dramatically enhanced watchOS 3.

Apple have significantly improved the Apple Watch with the release of watchOS 3 by increasing performance and removing the friction points that were so evident in the first releases of watchOS. Performance is drastically improved and the usability of the Apple Watch has been transformed - so much so that unless you really need GPS or waterproofing, upgrading to a series 2 Apple Watch is optional.

In this episode I explore some of the changes made to enhance the functionality of the Apple Watch and demonstrate some of the new constructs for accessing and navigating Apple Watch apps.

With the recent release of both iOS 10 and macOS Sierra, this episode covers some of the new and updated features of both operating systems, as well as some handy tips on migrating your iPhone and Apple Watch to new devices.

OS X 10.12 is now available and has been rebranded macOS Sierra.

In this special release show, I walk you through some of the critical elements in making sure your installation goes well. From creating a bootable backup to doing either a fresh install or an in-situ upgrade.

Once installed, I take a look at some of the new features of macOS Sierra including the new integration with iCloud that allows you to store your Documents and Desktop in iCloud Drive, as well as some of the new features inlcuding Storage Management, Safari Picture in Picture, Application Tabs, Music & Messages.

I’ll cover Auto Lock, Universal Clipboard and Siri in next week’s episode.

It’s iOS 10 release day and to celebrate, we’re releasing our first iOS10 video a few days earlier than usual.

iOS10 is a huge release from Apple and includes many new features as well as a bold visual redesign for many of your favourite apps.

iOS9 has really improved the ability for iOS Apps to interchange files and documents, but it’s still very confusing.

In this episode, I take a look at iCloud Drive on iOS and the Mac and try to explain how it all works. I also take a look at local storage options in various apps on iOS to explain just what is a “Document Provider”, as well at how the system wide Document Picker can be used in many different scenarios.
