Tutorial Description

Only a few short days and iOS 11 will be released to the public - the official release date being the 19th September 2017.

In a break from tradition, rather wait for the release day itself, I thought it would be useful for you to have an advance viewing of this first iOS 11 tutorial - to familiarise yourself with some of the core concepts.

Apple's flagship operating system for both the iPad and iPhone brings with it a host of new and updated features. In this first of a multi-part tutorial, we take you through some of the fundamental changes to iOS and demonstrate how they can be applied in your day-to-day usage of your Apple devices.

The full tutorial covers:

  • Installation Considerations
  • iPad - Lock Screen
  • iPad - Home Screen
  • iPhone - Lock & Home Screen
  • iPad - Dock
  • iPad - Drag & Drop
  • iPhone - Drag & Drop
  • iPad - Slide Over
  • iPad - Split View
  • iPad - Mobile Safari
  • iPad - Control Centre

I'm having this same issue; subtitles are embedded in the video.

I can't turn off the subtitles. Just adding to the list of the subtitle annoyance.

Hi Don, Screen Recording does capture audio, just do a long press on the record button and there is an option to enable audio.

Hi Iain, Thanks for that. I covered it in a later show.

I have been having problems with the slide over panel - several apps crash when I try to wok between the two panels

Hi Robert, Hopefully later point releases or updates to the apps might fix this for you.

I noticed today that with iOS 11 on the iPhone I can no longer repeat a song on the iOS Music App. It was hard enough to find repeat song and shuffle setting on iOS 10. Now they seem to simply be gone completely.

Hi Robert,

There is a shuffle button and repeat button when you go into the playing song "sheet"

Can't get rid of subtitles on any video. If I turn on subtitles I get two sets, but I can't get rid of them all.
