Tutorial Description

Create beautiful letterpress cards with the revised Cards app for iPhone and now iPad. Cards is a simple but effective app from Apple, that allows you to use your own photos and images to create and mail all sorts of cards directly from your iOS device.

I also take a brief look at some of the new features in the updated iBooks 3.0 app, now updated with a new continuous scrolling theme, full iCloud integration and the ability to share passages from certain books.

Actually, when you think about it, the cost for a card made in the Cards app isn't too bad. Remember that these aren't your typical Hallmark/American Greetings type cards; these are very nicely printed, letterpressed cards, more along the lines of what you'd find at a specialty card shop such as Papyrus, most of which cost around $3.00 themselves. Add to that the cost of a US postage stamp ($0.45 at the time I write this), and the fact that Apple is custom-printing each and every one of these cards, and the price that Apple is charging for these ($2.99 here in the States) is actually a bargain comparitively speaking.
