If you have sensitive data stored on your MacBook, you may want to consider installing FileVault.

FileVault is a encryption tool built into OSX.

Rather than encrypting individual files or folders, FileVault encrypts the entire bootable volume, with the option to encrypt other volumes as well. Using a strong encryption password, you can prevent access to your data if your MacBook is lost or stolen.

No password, no access.

Filevault also generates a recovery key to enable you to access your encrypted data in the event of you forgetting your password.
