Tutorial Description

The iPad is making huge inroads into education, as can be seen by the introduction of iBooks Author and interactive text books. But another area in in the field of interactive presentations. Nearpod takes this to the next level by allowing you to create synchronised classroom presentations.

With the free application, it's possible to deliver a fully interactive presentation or lesson with up to 30 connected iPads, iPhones or iPod touches. Not just static slides, but video, interactive quizzes and polls, student controlled slide shows as well as live drawing. Not only is this all synchronised and controlled by a single teacher iPad, but the results of the quizzes, polls and even drawings are sent back in real time to the teacher. You can also allow internet access to a specified URL. You really need to see this application in action!

The tutorial takes you from setting up a free account to starting your first interactive session with the supplied NPP or Nearpod Presentation. We take a look at how all the different slide types work on both the teacher's iPad as well as the student's iPad, and give you some idea of the power and scope of this groundbreaking application and service.

Best of all, it's free for up to 10 NPPs (up to 20MB each) and up to 30 connected devices. Just download the app from the App Store.
