Keep It

Date: 18th May 2018

Duration: 47:57

Show ref: SCOM0735

Keep It is an app designed to hold notes, videos, audio files, images, web links and any other kind of information you'd like to organize and be able to find later. No matter your organizational style, Keep It can handle it. Folders, bundles, tags, comments, coloured labels, saved searches - all methods are supported!

It is available for the Mac, and as a separate Universal app for iOS. Keep It is the destination for all those things you want to put somewhere, confident you will find them again later. Seamless syncing through iCloud allows you to use Keep it on all of your devices.

This week Allison dives deep into Keep It, goes through its many features, and shows you how it can help you make sense of all the pieces of information you want to keep track of in your digital life.

Bear - Notes for iPad, iPhone & Mac

Date: 17th February 2017

Duration: 45:45

Show ref: SCOM0605

Bear is the new kid on the block as far as plain text editing on the Mac, iPad and iPhone is concerned.

Despite being a committed Ulyssess and Scrivener user, my interest was piqued by the glowing reviews and the fact that Bear was selected as "App of the Year" 2016 by Apple.

After using Bear for a couple of weeks (and the fact that I received many requests), I decided that it would be remiss of me not to cover Bear on ScreenCastsOnline - it really is a beautiful app!

However, there is one aspect of the app that may not sit well with some people, and that's to enable syncing between devices (and to switch on some other functionality), you need to upgrade to Bear Pro, which just happens to be a subscription service.

Consequently, in this tutorial, I focus mainly on the features in the free version, but still take a look at the Bear Pro options.

Well worth taking a look!

I covered some of the updates to Photos 1.1 last week, but this week I revisit it to take a peek at Live Photos and more importantly, Photo Extensions. Be sure to check out the time sensitive special offer below.

I also spend some time exploring the much improved and expanded Notes application.

Paper is a fantastic drawing application for the iPad that allows anyone to create beautiful, stylistic images for presentations and illustrations.

I've covered Paper by 53 before, but the application has been steadily improved and enhanced over time. The current release now includes Smart Shapes, making it even easier to draw business diagrams and much more - no artistic skills required!
