There are many photo management and editing applications on the market, including Adobe's Lightroom and Apple's Photos. When it comes to combining managing and editing images, it's important to look at the features that you value most so you can choose the application that is right for you.
Luminar 4 from Skylum is another entry into this market. It boasts some unique features that address some missing features in other applications. In this first of two episodes, Todd shows you how to get started with Luminar 4 including setup, how to import and organize your photos, as well as some of its basic editing features.

I will have to take a look at this one when I get home. Personally I'm not all that impressed with Luminar 4, for me ... it's a step back UX wise. As an amateur I don't want to spend a lot of time editing my images, a quick white balance, color correct and vignette is probably what I need most of the time. And in the new UI every time you open a panel for an edit the other panel you have closes up. So when I have to go through 100 images I need to open 300 panels. Would have been so much better if you could force the edit panels you want to be open at all time.
Thanks for the comment. I agree that losing the workspaces option is really inconvenient especially if you established a workspace for all your tools or at least the option to put them in order. I’ll be talking about that in part 2. I like that they were going more towards simplicity and combining some tools but the customization in layout that went away is a miss I hope they fix.
