The second in our multipart series on Adobe Photoshop on the Mac and the Adobe Photoshop apps on iOS.
Many people have opted to use Adobe Lightroom as a replacement for Apple's recently retired photo management application Aperture. Adobe Photoshop is a pro-level photo manipulation and is available to supplement Lightroom in a special bundle from Adobe.
In this episode, Todd Olthoff drills down into using Layers in Photoshop to non-destructively edit your images. The basic principals of using layers are very similar across many applications, so even if you're not a Photoshop user, you may still find this episode useful.
Todd also looks at the iOS companion app - Photoshop Fix.
Photoshop Fix is a free universal app for the iPhone and iPad and allows you to edit your images non-destructively. It also has some unique features for face manipulation and some other cool tools.
Photoshop Fix is free to download and use, but if you're a Photoshop user, you can transfer the updated images from your iOS device with all the layer changes accessible in Photoshop - very smart!
As not everyone has opted for Lightroom or has a need for Photoshop, the Photoshop series will be limited to a three or four part series, published once a month. We will also be looking at some low cost Photoshop alternatives in the near future.

Nice job, Todd. I don't use Photoshop, but I do use Photoshop Elements and now thanks to your clear instruction I am now using adjustment layers. Now I can't imagine editing a photo without using layers! It would be nice if Adobe brought Photoshop Fix to the Mac (are you listening, Adobe?). Looking forward to your sequel shows.

Thanks David! Glad you like the screencast. Yeah once you learn about using layers there is no going back in photo editing:). Thanks again for the comment and have a great week!
