Tutorial Description

Following on from last week, I complete my look at an extremely popular and fascinating "hobby" - Genealogy. That's the formal name for the addictive pastime of researching your family tree. It's never been easier with the vast of data now available online, and a host of services and applications for Mac, PC and iOS.

In this week's show I take a look at the Mac application Family Tree Maker and examine how to sync with your online family trees in Ancestry.com, as well as taking a look at the much improved printing features in the Mac app.

In addition, I take an overview of the various workspaces in Family Tree Maker, as well as adding photos to people for use in creating highly customisable charts and diagrams.

The full tutorial covers:

  • Introduction
  • FTM User Interface
  • Linking Trees With Ancestry
  • Activate Subscription
  • FTM Workspaces
  • FTM Workspaces - People
  • FTM Workspaces - Places
  • FTM Workspaces - Media
